Why choose us when there are so many others?![]() The answer is success! You are in very safe hands. Having a passion for your success means that every effort is taken to provide you with the best opportunity to reach your driving goals. Not all instructors (or driving schools) are the same. With Complete Driver we want want you want, and work hard with you to achieve that. Pushing you forward and moving you on each lesson until the day you pass!
Picking the right trainer is an important part of the process of learning to drive. We know how important it is to your learning that you have the right quality of instructor taking you all the way to your driving test and beyond. How do you know you have picked the right Instructor?
Do you really want to be trained by trainee? Sometimes trainees will charge less for instruction because they are not yet qualified. These trainee instructors however, may not have the experience of teaching that a fully qualified driving instructor has. Things could take a little longer. Sadly many trainees do not go on to make fully qualified, fully trained instructors.
To give you the best chance of passing first time, you should always check your instructor is fully qualified. That they hold a full ADI 'Green' hexagonal identity badge and not the 'Pink' triangular trainee badge. All Driving Instructors trainee or fully qualified are required to have their badge displayed in the windscreen of the car you are training in at all times by law. This is a requirement of registration. Pupils check a potential instructor's grade. You want to be trained by a highly trained instructor right? We always display a green Driving Standards Agency (DSA) badge in our windscreen to prove that we are fully qualified to teach you. The green badge means that we have completed an average of 12 to 18 months of initial training and passed an exam testing our ability to teach. 'Check Test' Your Instructor! Just because an Instructor is qualified does not make him or her a good Instructor. Unfortunately, some ADI's after they qualify do not keep up their standards. The really good instructors do! Fully qualified ADI's must take further regular tests, known as 'Check Tests'. Similar to how schools are tested by OFSTED. During a "live" driving lesson an ADI is examined by a Senior Driving Examiner employed by the Driving Standards Agency (DVSA). Check tests are there to maintain the quality of driving instruction. The quality is defined by the Driving Standards Agency at the end of a check test. An ADI is graded according to ability - Grade 0 to 6. New grades were introduced in April 2014. 'A' being high standard and 'B' Good Standard. An Examiner will use his or her skill to decide the grade for the Instructor! Grade 4/5 - Good (Grade B) Grade 5/6 - A very high standard. (A Grade) Learn with Professionals If you are already learning to drive but are not happy with your progress or the quality of training you are getting, ask yourself whether your instructor:
If you have a good instructor, you should have been able to answer YES to all of these questions. If you can't, then you should try to discuss the problems. If you are offered no remedy, you should perhaps consider looking for another driving instructor. Remember – it’s your money and your choice. Sometimes it happens that you just can’t get on well with an instructor. You can always change to another school or an instructor with a different teaching style.
